Antidepressants Are OverprescribedIn this newsletter, I'm going to show you compounds that are 100% natural antidepressants. This is vital for you to understand because of the current mental health landscape. Depression rates are through the roof. Subsequently, antidepressant sales are through the roof as the byproduct. Understand this... These 'quick fix' solutions are usually unnecessary. Plus, consistently using these meds brings a cascade of long-term negative consequences. In my opinion, antidepressants are overprescribed, and the trend is only growing. But not to fear, there are natural alternatives. So, the biological ROI of natural antidepressants is higher basal Dopamine levels. I'll get into why further down. The mechanism of action behind these natural compounds is to replenish and maintain a sufficient pool of Dopamine - just like synthetic antidepressants. What does this mean for you though? The subsequent, functional benefits that derive from higher Dopamine are;
I will conclude this segment by saying that our Dopamine has been violently violated for years - since the birth of high-speed internet. Natural MAO inhibitors (antidepressants) are one of many ways to preserve and enhance your Dopamine. Monoamines, Monoamine Oxidase (MAO) & Monoamine Oxidase InhibitorsIt's important to highlight these. Firstly, Monoamines refer to particular neurotransmitters and neuromodulators. For example; Dopamine, Serotonin, and Norepinephrine are monoamines. Secondly, Monoamine oxidase refers to a family of enzymes that excretes these neurotransmitters and neuromodulators from the brain through oxidation. Thus, rendering less available monoamines - like Dopamine - in the brain. This is the reason why some synthetic antidepressants target this enzyme, and inhibit its function. Finally, this is also the reason they're called MAO inhibitors. Their primary function is to keep more monoamines circulating in the brain. Let's get into three natural MAO inhibitors. Three Natural MAO Inhibitors1. RhodiolaRhodiola is a popular adaptogen that grows in the colder regions of Asia & Europe. It's typically used as a central nervous stimulator for athletic and mental performance. This paper found that Rhodiola roots possess "potent" MAO inhibition properties. Another paper found that the synergistic consumption of Green Tea, Red Wine, Rhodiola, and Vincor Minor "may have a greater therapeutic effect than current pharmaceutical drugs, such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors and dopamine agonists alone." The takeaway message from the second paper is to consume foods and beverages with a dense polyphenol content. Product & Purchase: If you decide to supplement with Rhodiola, standardization is important to take into account. You need to understand which component is being standardized. For instance, Nootropics Depot has two different Rhodiola products;
The 3% Salidroside product provides a more stimulating effect. Whereas the 3% Rosavins product provides a calming and systemic health optimization effect. This is why it's important to do research before purchasing any Rhodiola product. Also, a standard daily dose is usually 500mg/day. 2. QuercetinQuercetin is an antioxidant flavonoid found in a variety of natural products; red wine, honey, onions, and citrus fruits. But these only provide small doses of Quercetin. (still worth consuming) So, a supplemental form is an option if you want a more concentrated dose. Again, Nootropics Depot produces a solid product. But what does the research say? This paper looked at Calluna vulgaris - which is a shrub found in Africa, Asia, and Europe - and the effect it had on MAO inhibition. It concluded that the MAO inhibitory effect was primarily due to the Quercetin content. Another paper concluded that Quercetin was effective at docking to MAO sites, and inhibiting the effect. Keep in mind these are in vitro studies. Finally, a standard dose of Quercetin is 500mg/day. 3. SaffronSaffron is a popular spice typically used for seasoning meals. However, Saffron contains a potent constituent called Crocins, which is a solid MAO inhibitor (both type A & type B). This paper found that the Crocins found in Saffron work to block the reuptake of Dopamine, Serotonin, and Norepinephrine in a dose-dependent manner. Again, you can include more Saffron in your diet but the quantity of Crocins found in the spice won't be as concentrated as a supplemental form. Nootropics Depot produces a high-potency Saffron product. The dosage is 30mg/daily. SynopsisIf you're still reading this, I thank you greatly, brother. It's important to note that all monoamines are derived from amino acids such as Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, and Tryptophan. Including high-quality foods in your diet that contain a solid amino acid profile is very important. So, you've learnt the basics of monoamines, monoamine oxidase and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Next, you learned about three natural alternatives that have the same mechanism; Rhodiola, Quercetin, and Saffron. I will conclude by reinforcing that prescriptions are overprescribed. Natural and holistic approaches to depression will always reign supreme. I wish you well on your journey brother. And remember... MORE life. LESS entropy. PS, my Twitter DMs are always open if you have any questions. PSS, those links to Nootropics depot ARE affiliate links. I want to be transparent. I hope this doesn't deter you because Nootropics depot are a very solid company;

Sophrosyne newsletter The Disturbingly Strong Energy Enhancement Team Enhancing cellular vitality Methylene blue, a compound that looks like blueberry Kool-Aid, is one of the most interesting and mysterious compounds on the market. But the question is why? Methylene blue is in fact a potent redox agent. Simply put, this means it can donate and accept electrons, which optimizes your body's electron transport chain. This chain is critical in the cellular process that transforms the energy from...
Sophrosyne newsletter The Optimal Dopamine Framework The framework itself The optimal dopamine framework looks something like this: a high dopamine baseline with sustainable spikes, and manageable troughs. This framework is relatively simple to adopt, and the ROI is incalculable. Dopamine is a precious resource, which controls your attention, drive, and motivation. It will enable you to plan ahead and resist impulses to achieve your goals. Whatever your goals may be - it's essential for the...
Sophrosyne newsletter How to Boost Your Baseline Level of Dopamine Why does your baseline matter? Your baseline level of dopamine is referred to as your tonic level of dopamine. This is the minimum amount of dopamine circulating in your system, to maintain basic functions. You should be aiming to have this baseline as high as possible. If you have a high dopamine baseline, when you do partake in dopamine-spiking activities, the crash is not as significant. Because you're operating from a...
